Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. This policy describes what data LurkyStreams collects, how it is used and how it is protected.

1. Data we collect

LurkyStreams only collects data strictly necessary for the service to function. We do not collect personal data from individual Discord users.

1.1 Server (guild) data

  • Discord server ID
  • Server name
  • Date the bot joined the server
  • Settings defined by administrators (notification channel, mention role, display preferences)

1.2 Channel data

  • ID of the text channel configured to receive notifications

1.3 Streamer data

  • Platform (Twitch, YouTube or Kick)
  • Platform user ID
  • Username and display name
  • Avatar and profile URL
  • Live stream data (title, game, viewer count, thumbnail, start time)

1.4 Notification data

  • ID of the notification message sent on Discord
  • Stream status (live or ended)
  • Stream metadata at the time of notification

2. Data we DO NOT collect

LurkyStreams does not collect:

  • Personal data from individual users (name, email, age)
  • Discord user IDs
  • Message content (except stream links when auto-detection is active)
  • Voice or video call history
  • Data from other bots or applications on the server
  • Payment or financial information

3. How we use the data

The collected data is used exclusively for:

  • Sending live stream notifications in the configured channels
  • Updating existing notifications with real-time information
  • Maintaining each server's settings and preferences
  • Managing event subscriptions on streaming platforms (EventSub, WebSub, webhooks)

We do not sell, share or transfer your data to third parties. Data is not used for advertising, behavioral analytics or any purpose beyond the bot's operation.

4. Storage and security

Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database with restricted access. Temporary cache data is kept in Redis with automatic expiration (1-hour TTL for server and streamer data).

We adopt technical measures to protect data, including encrypted database connections and access restricted only to the bot's system.

5. Data retention

Data is retained as long as the bot is active on your server. When LurkyStreams is removed from a server, all associated data is automatically deleted in cascade, including:

  • Server settings
  • Notification channels
  • Monitored streamer associations
  • Notification history

Streamer data shared across multiple servers is retained as long as at least one server still monitors them.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — request what data from your server is stored
  • Delete — remove the bot from the server for automatic deletion of all data, or request manual deletion
  • Rectify — update server settings through the bot's commands

8. Minors

LurkyStreams does not intentionally collect data from minors under 13 years of age. Use of the bot is subject to Discord's minimum age requirements. If we become aware that data from minors has been collected, it will be deleted immediately.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated periodically. Significant changes will be communicated through the LurkyStreams Discord support server. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated with each revision.
